Axel Brüel (30 March 1900 – 2 November 1977) was a Danish ceramic artist and musician. He and his wife Lis Brüel owned a ceramic studio in Hillerød. Axel Brüel worked at Lyngby Porcelain as a regular artistic consultant and had a major influence on the pure and functionalist style orientation of Lyngby Porcelain in the 1950s and 60s. In 2015 his daughter, visual artist Charlotte Brüel, designed a very special glass called Tumbler that matches her father’s jug perfectly. That is why this superb set, comprising a carafe and tumbler, is now known as AB/C.
